Data Sources
Brolic's food catalog is built from public and open food-composition databases. This page names them, the terms they are used under, and how they appear in the app.
Open Food Facts
Contains information from Open Food Facts, which is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Individual contents of the database are available under the Database Contents License (DbCL). Brolic uses the product names, brands, barcodes, serving sizes, and nutrition facts that Open Food Facts contributors have entered. Product photos are not redistributed.
The Open Food Facts-derived portion of Brolic's catalog stays under the ODbL and is available on request from [email protected].

How Brolic Uses These Sources
- Generic foods come from the public database for your market: USDA in the United States, Health Canada in Canada, and CoFID in the United Kingdom. Packaged products and barcode scans come from Open Food Facts.
- Each entry keeps its source identifier, so a food can be traced back to the record it came from. Brolic does not merge records from different sources into one entry.
- Values are shown as published by each source, per 100 g or per the source's serving, and may be rounded for display. Brolic converts between units and portions; it does not alter the underlying figures.
- Nutrition data is provided for tracking and organization. It is not medical or dietary advice. See the Non-Medical Disclaimer.
