  • MacroFactor $71.99

  • MacroFactor + Workouts $89.99

MacroFactor also sells a half year for $47.99, and bundles its nutrition and workouts apps for $89.99 a year for people who started on or after January 1, 2026. MyFitnessPal’s Premium starts with a 7-day free trial for first-time upgraders. Prices vary by country; check your own store before subscribing.

MyFitnessPal’s free plan is ad-supported, and since October 1, 2022 its barcode scanner needs Premium. Premium also adds Meal Scan, Voice Logging and goals by meal or day. MacroFactor has no free plan and no ads; the barcode scanner, AI photo logging and Describe are part of the one subscription.

How targets are set

This is the biggest difference. MacroFactor estimates what you actually burn from the food you log and your trend weight, and adjusts your macro plan every week. MyFitnessPal sets your calorie goal by formula from your age, height, weight, sex and activity level, and your goals may change as your weight changes.

Workouts and GLP-1

MyFitnessPal logs strength exercises with sets, reps and weight, but it does not count calories burned from strength training, and multi-exercise workout routines are Premium. MacroFactor keeps workouts in a separate app, MacroFactor Workouts. MyFitnessPal tracks GLP-1 doses, times and injection sites in the US and Canada. We found no medication tracking on MacroFactor’s pages.

Brolic: our pick for lifters

Brolic is an iPhone app that keeps food logging, workout tracking, protocols and progress in one place. It sets protein-first calorie and macro targets, scans barcodes and nutrition labels, and drafts food entries from a photo or a description for you to review. It builds workout programs with AI, logs every set with a rest timer and PR alerts, and tracks GLP-1, TRT and peptide routines you enter yourself on the same timeline.

It is the product at brolic.app, developed by PSG Labs Inc. Brolic is on the App Store for iPhone. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial, then costs US$99.99 a year, or US$19.99 a month.
